This project started out as a hobbie and passion I have for this game. Even if most people call Simcity 4 Deluxe their favorite. Simcity 3000 Unlimited, remains for me the best one in the series. Its simplicity combined with its 90s graphics gives it a special charm for me.

Goals:

The aim of this github project is to create open source tools and information that will make it easier for people to run this game in modern systems without the hassle of spending hours trying to configure Simcity 3000/3000 Unlimited to run without issues or people spending hours researching the internet for ways to make it run in their Modern Operating Systems, after all this game is almost 20 years old.

The biggest motivation for starting this project was the low attention Simcity 3000 gets from Modders, most of them prefer to mod Simcity 4. We also aim to make it easier to mod Simcity 3000 as other people did with Simcity 4.

Where can I get a copy of Simcity 3000 Unlimited?

Simcity 3000 Unlimited(Windows version) was recently rereleased for sale in digital matter in the website GOG(Good Old games). As for finding the Linux version for sale somehwere, unfortunately they are as rare as finding a 100 dollar bill laying in the sidewalk. Also the fact that Loki games(The developer of the Native Linux version) went bankrupt doesnt help either. Anyways if you do have it(like I do) or find it you can use my Python Installer to install it and make it work in any Modern Linux Distributions, without having any issues!

Sorry but I dont endorse piracy even if Simcity 3000 Linux edition is not avaliable for purchase anymore I wont give you a copy of it. So dont ask for It. I hate Linux pirates if games ported by Loki Games werent pirated so much, maybe Loki Games could still be around. And We could still be having more games being ported to Linux. Unfortunately they werent profiting much from selling games for Linux thanks to pirates and people not being interested in buying games for the Linux platform.
